darrylpt - May 21, 2006 02:53 PM (GMT)
this is a trinity comm lathe that i still use,i was given it some years ago its called a magic motor comm lathe, you will notice(picture not that good sorry) that instead of a carbide/diamond tip, there is a grinding wheel with fine emery cloth around it that skims the motor and to be fair it does do a good job, oops cant find the picture will retake and upload it later

thats sweet..
how long does the cloth last for and is the cloth hard to come across these days??

the cloth lasts for ages,as its only taking a tiny amount of copper from the comm, when it does wear out i soimply take it off and stick another bit on using bostik glue, and away we go again,i have also used very fine grained sand paper as well and the comm still skims well

Could you use Wet & Dry on it ?
Nice 1200 grade, with a spray of WD40 would give a super polish i would think

wet and dry may be an idea, but i do use a little trinity royal oil on the emery cloth, and it does shine up rather well
