I've just been watching the video of that race (Gene Husting RC Car racing DVD, available on eBay).

My god those were the days weren't they? :D

Its a shame what happened to the TEMAC track, i know the onroad track was heavily criticized at the time, but I loved the World's off-road track.

Has anyone else got any TEMAC photos? I must have some somewhere in the loft.

poprock - May 7, 2007 01:51 PM (GMT)
I know I had a stack of photos from that event, but I reckon they went AWOL in my old man’s loft when he upped and moved to France!

Nice to see that track again. I never did get to race on it, being from oop north.

Highlight of my day watching the finals was nipping into the pits with the bloke from MIP. At the time I was driving one of the only 4WD converted RC10s in the UK, and that’s exactly what he was racing in the grand final … he took pity on me and handed me bagfuls of spares from his toolbox, saying that he knew the front driveshafts had a tendency to snap on rough tracks but here were a bunch of specially toughened ones he had whipped up for the Worlds … what a nice bloke!
