I must aimt i was quite shocked when i was looking at the motor, i was expecting the motor to be bigger is size then what it was, the motor size is smaller then my old mans scooby motor, thats quite mental considering how much power is got  thats brushless for ya

 my mate is gutted though this is his birthday present from his wife and she will not let him use it untill his birthday in 3 weeks time, lol

lol so in 3 weeks when we take it out with our t-maxx's we will take a video to show you all

Anyone know where we can buy a lipo charger and the big ass batteries and new gears?

Marc.. RC Addict! - June 22, 2008 03:52 PM (GMT)
yeh mate he wants to go 11.1v lipo, if you know any places to be a good deal on the charger and some betteries and the gears that would be a great help B)

buy gears direct from traxxas uk

charger/batteries ask luke? otherwise i'd go for maxamps battery and charger package

Jedi Master - June 22, 2008 06:57 PM (GMT)
Max-amps are a good battery to go with. I could show you better ones, but you wouldn't benefit from the difference. As for a charger, try one of these

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/iMAX-B5-Lipo-NiMH-Ba...id=p3286.c0.m14

This will charge all batteres types at a rat eof 5 amps. I just sold one to Tim, which does 6 Lipo cells. Exactly the same, very easy to use and a geat first charger for Lipo's.

I cant wait,lol

morning guys

well i thought i would give you all an update on my mates rustler.

last week he finally took at out for a spin, hes running the 11v lipos, unfortunately i was not there when he used the ruster :( but my old man was so i got to hear all about it

well first thing, the rustler goes like a rocket, its about as powerful as the nitro joto but would beat its max speed, it also has the same kind of crazy handling as the joto at top speeds and if wind catches the bottom of the chassis the truck lifts and wants to fly,

My mate took the ruster out about 3 times i think over a few days, allready the gears have melted, and to top it off he crashed it into a parked car,lol

has anyone got any tips on how to stop the rustler from eating its own gears?, apart from going down in power from the batteries..

HAPPY RC-ING ALL. :rc_car:

minivtec - August 29, 2008 05:24 PM (GMT)
i think you have answered your own question marc try 7.4 lipos

YZ-10 - August 29, 2008 06:38 PM (GMT)
what gearing is he running marc?

Marc.. RC Addict! - August 30, 2008 08:15 AM (GMT)
ill find out for sure mate but i think hes using the recommended traxxas 31/76 gears..

yeh if hes not allready using a lower volt battery ill tell him to do so, losing 10-15mph or so would not really make much difference to the crazy speed this thing has, if anything it will make it more controllable

YZ-10 - August 30, 2008 08:30 AM (GMT)
marc to be fair the 11.1v and 31/76 is only suitable for speed runs, i agree with rob on dropping down to the 7.4v

Marc.. RC Addict! - August 31, 2008 05:20 PM (GMT)
cheers guys, ill tell him

must admit though when i get my vxl stampede im not going lipo, im just going to keep it running on the 28/83 gears and with a 8-cell 9.6V battery, 50+ mph for a off-road electric truck is good enough for me and then fingers crossed i will not have any trouble with my gears, also as we all know the only way we would get the max speed out of these is in a straight line

roll on christmas :banana_jump: :banana_jump: :banana_jump:
