Title: Revo and SSK both engines spluttering.
Description: Both misfire and then die when I acceler

Digicol - June 15, 2008 05:12 PM (GMT)
Hi guys,

I have a Revo 3.3. with a RB.23 engine and a Thunder Tiger SSK 1/10 with a standard 3.0 engine.

Both cars were running fine and all of a sudden this week both cars have started playing up.

The engines in both of them splutter and seem to miss a lot and when I try to accelerate they both just die, the Revo seems to kick out some air from the cylinder head just as it dies.

Any ideas? Considering I know nothing about engines any advice as to what has caused this to happen to two different cars would be a God send.

Both have been using the same fuel for about 3 weeks 25% Donolly I think it's called. The revo was broke in using this fuel, not sure about the Thunder Tiger though.

These problems seemed to start after the cars flipped over on a sharp turn if that info is of any use to anyone.

Cheers.

hello mate, sorry to hear your having probs with your models.

Im not an expert but sounds like if your having the same troubles with 2 different models, it could be down to tuning issues. have you got the manuals? if so, try putting the tuning back to the factory settings.

Im sure the fuel your using has not caused any probs mate, the chances are its down to tuning mate, so fingers crossed the probs can be sorted out.

Im sure your get some more replys soon, with more help then what i can give you.

yeah if it's with both cars like marc said it's probably down to tuning, try going back to factory settings then start to lean it off gradually

Cheers guys, I do have the DVD for the Revo and the manual so will look through that again to try and sort it. So you think it is just a point of turning the screws to sort the mixture out?

Anyway I will take some time to look watch the DVD again as I did not take much notice first time around, although the car was run in correctly as I had a mate to to do it for me, but he is currently away on business so I am left in limbo.

The SSK was bought on the cheap so will try and sort that as and when I learn about these things.

Thanks for the replies guys, it's nice to know people are on hand if I am stuck in the future.

yeh nitro engines need tuning all the time but only by small increments (to allow for different weather temperatures etc) so as Marc has siad take them back to the base settings and lean them out in very small increments (one or 2 clicks at a time and you will probably find after a little fettling all will be well)

good luck
