hi guys

lol yeh i know a bit of a silly question but i thought id ask, im sure someone has also found this out.

as some of you know im in the middle of doing my new T-MAXX shell, its nearly done now ive done the detail painting and not i just need to do the main body colour but 1st i would like to cut the shell..

yup easy it sounds i know and normally is.lol but not this ted tuff shell, ive got a proline poly 50% stronger body shell and where the front bumper is curved its so hard to cut and i mean hard, im using titanium scissors but they are not cutting it good enough around the bumper, ive used these scissors to cut a few body shells but ive never come across a shell this tuff to cut.

well guys what you think, time to get out the dremel? lol i must be careful though as ive painted the front bumper so i dont want to slip the paint.

hmm monty you must have come across a few ted tuff shell in your time, so guys any ideas on the best way to cut this shell?

any help would be great, thanks guys

oh these things are a right pain in the rear to trim!!

best way ive found is to score the cut lines with an SHARP craft blade/stanley blade and once satisfied with the scored lines simply bend the lexan to break! this is how i do all my shells and its the only way i have found that will give you perfect lines, other then that its forearm pain and scissors through that thick stuff, personally I wouldn't recommend dremel unless your very good with it though mate as one misguided cut/ slip and your shell could be in big trouble! ive also found that the heat from a dremel tends to start to melt lexan too then you have to trim all that off too!

hi guys thought id tell ya, the lexan curved scissors i ordered come today, they are made by ANSMANN RACING and was just under £5 delivered.

Ive tested them and wow yeh they are better then my titanium ones the scissors cut the shell quite easy but also leave a nice cut B)

so with these scissors and a stanley knife im sure ill be fine now.
