Traxxas Unveils The Long Awaited E-Revo

Power
The Traxxas Revo features the same basic electronics as in the new E-Maxx. That includes the Evx-2 speed control, and twin Titan 550 motors. Just as in the E-Maxx Traxxas has designed the E-Revo to accept dual battery packs which reside in separate enclosed battery compartments. Thinking of running a larger than ordinary battery pack? No problem the battery compartments have been designed with adjustable brackets to accept various battery types.

Radio
The E-Revo comes fully assembled and Ready To Run (RTR) with a Traxxas TQ radio system featuring a four channel micro receiver, and dual high torque waterproof steering servos. The receiver sits in it’s own watertight box for fun in the wet stuff.

Chassis
The ground-breaking molded E Revo chassis sets a new benchmark for electric monster truck looks and performance. The E-Revo chassis combines art and function to deliver a lightweight, integrated, and rigid platform that maximizes strength and reduces weight. Looking forward, the chassis was designed to accommodate new battery technologies and for the extreme speeds and torque of brushless power systems. By combining the battery compartments with the chassis design, the battery packs can sit low and close to the center of the truck, plus valuable chassis surface is freed up to accommodate the electronics for a clean layout. This keeps the center of gravity (CG) as low as possible and increases side-to-side agility by keeping most of the weight close to the center.

Suspension
The E-Revo features the same basic suspension as seen on the world renown nitro Revo. Push rods and rockers translate up and down suspension travel into smooth linear motion for inboard mounted shock absorbers. Computer modeled rocker geometry uses the physics of leverage to deliver true progressive suspension action. The E-Revo suspension system constantly varies both the spring rate and damping to match suspension movement. Over small bumps, the suspension is light and responsive, reacting instantly to the surface. Compress the suspension over large bumps and jumps and the rocker geometry progressively increases the spring force and shock damping. In an instant, the suspension automatically becomes stiffer when you need it most.

The advanced rocker system and super long suspension arms allow E-Revo to have more suspension travel than any other electric monster truck. With the long travel rockers installed, over 120mm of suspension travel is available. That’s 60% more travel than the legendary T-Maxx! E-Revo’s suspension travel is not limited by the length of the shocks.

Tires and Wheels
E-Revo features wide, low profile 3.8″ Talon all terrain tires mounted on black chrome Gemini wheels. The tires come pre-glued from the factory and are filled with foam inserts so you can go from the box to the track without the work.

Driveline
The new single-speed Brushless Ready™ transmission features an oversized steel idler gear and a Torque-Control™ slipper clutch to handle the massive torque of high-performance brushless motors. To access spur and pinion gears quickly and easily, a unique single-piece gear cover can be removed and installed with a single hex screw. For additional tuning options an accessory single motor installation kit and two-speed gear sets are available.

The Patent-Pending Torque-Control slipper clutch uses special semi-metallic friction material and finned aluminum alloy pressure plates to dissipate heat and provide consistent traction control. The semi-metallic friction material remains stable across a wide temperature range to provide smooth, linear engagement you can count on, run after run. Spur gears can be removed and replaced without altering the slipper adjustment. A center ball bearing maintains precise, long-lasting alignment with near friction-free running and virtually zero maintenance.

The E-Revo’s limited slip differentials are completely sealed with durable silicon x-rings and gaskets. This allows them to be virtually maintenance free and the limited-slip action can be tuned using different viscosity oil. The ring and pinion gears are super smooth thanks to refined manufacturing and design. The differential housings are light and extremely compact. The housings are engineered to resist flex and are assembled for precision bearing and gear alignment. The precise fit is unaffected by the tightness of the screws. Durability is assured with a large, heavy-duty drive side bearing and large screws that retain the ring gear. Built to handle extreme power, these differentials offer unmatched versatility and toughness.

Using the reliable and incredibly tough Revo drivetrain, E-Revo incorporates sealed super-duty driveshafts. Expandable rubber seals prevent friction causing dirt from entering the half shafts. True curvilinear splines on the half shafts provide smooth performance. Large rubber-sealed stub axle bearings are used for long-lasting, smooth running performance. E-Revo’s sliding half shaft design is clearly superior, eliminating the metal-to-metal drive pin plunge friction that causes friction and wear in metal driveshafts and the possibility bent shafts. Plus there’s no need to limit suspension travel just to keep the drive pins from popping out of the cups. E-Revo’s driveshafts are engineered for durable, smooth, maintenance-free operation.

Wings/Bumpers
The E-Revo features a “Formula 1 style” high downforce rear wing which sits on an adjustable mount. The mount features a cross-brace which has two positions for variable wing heights. Mount the cross-brace in the upper location for more down force, or bolt it in the lower position for faster top speeds. The wing mount offers three deflection angle adjustments for precision track tuning.

E-Revo also has front and rear bumpers that are trimmed down for an all-out racing look and coated in a beautiful black-chrome finish for an aggressive, yet sleek appearance.
