Title: Help - probs with Marder

xlaorta - March 25, 2008 01:24 AM (GMT)
I have 2 marders - both have the same problem. the engine is fine but there is no drive thrpugh the ace when the car is on the ground. If the back is raised, the wheels turn.

Also, there is "ting" ng sound 0 like a bell being run.

Can anybody suggest whats needed. I am not really competant on these things but can muddle through.

Tim

Sounds like something is wrong with the Clutch.

Monty, Jono and Tim have/had these, so they'll probably Help a bit more on what to do etc.

maybe a slipping clutch or diff ?

maybe the drive gears are loose or aren't meshing together properly???

ting noise could well be clutch that's the right sound, but they ususally fail in full drive, so it sets off on tickover, if you hold it up turned off and turn a back wheel does the other turn opposite? If not looking at a Diff failure, or a common fault is diff casing splits, leaves no drive

both marders failed for some reason on not messhing with the diff gear. Once replaced and repositioned both are brill.

Many thanks for help and advice

Tim
