Title: Restoration project
Description: My old Stadium Blitzer

Ritchie - March 10, 2008 12:02 PM (GMT)
I've decide to bring my beloved Stadium Blitzer out of retirement for one last bash before a full restoration :D

I've already managed to source a new shell and decals, should have them this week. Chassis wise, the only non-Tamiya part on it at the minute is a rear spring retainer (which I've already found on ebay) and some Kyosho tyres on the rear wheels. However it does need a new chassis as some of the threads have stripped after the thousand or so rebuilds its had :D
I've started collecting bits as I can find/ afford them, and if I'm lucky enough to get all the spares I need, I'll just build a second one as a "shelf queen" and keep this one in action with some new electronics and better shocks...
Pictures to follow when work starts after the bash

I'll put some better ones up during the rebuild
I was trying to work it out last night, I think I've had this about 13 years!!!

looks same design chassis as my old bearhawk was :D

Good eye! Shares a lot of bits with a lot of other models. Remember the old Bush Devil truck? Shares front hubs with that and a few others :D And as for driveshafts, they're still readily available as they're still used on the DF03

Well after summoning up the nerves to do it, and a near disaster due to the absence of overspray film (nice one tamiya... :gay: Thanks go to the missus for donating a surprisingly wide variety of nail polish removers!), here's my Blitzer with its sparkly new shell:

So now I'm looking out for new wheels and tyres. I'm finding it hard to find genuine rear tyres for it, and for some odd reason, front wheels seem to be like rocking horse poo as well!

Also thinking of finding a clear body for the micro-t and making a 1/36 replica  :joker:

After much searching over tha last few weeks, I managed to find a set of the proverbial rocking-horse-poo original Blitzer rear tyres in a model shop in Japan, and they arrived today!!

So I just started the search for a pair of new front wheels, just to find a full set of new tyres now on ebay... Bloody typical!! :joker:

:joker: Yeah this is true. I will get something running for a bash sooner or later, but I've been concentrating on getting my drift car ready for a competition round on the 14th :whip: I've collected most of the bits I need for my Revo, now I just need the motivation, some fuel and a few minutes to get it tuned! :joker:
