Hi monty yeah my new job has kinda robbed me of all my time but its all good :) agdr the scorpion is a great truck, its a nice quality chassis, easy to build altho the beadlock rims are a bit fiddly but look and work great. i'm not a huge fan of the supplied shell but will give it a great scale look, i prefer the monster look so opted for a 1/12th scale shell its currently wearing a lexan lunchbox shell. so yeah its a great truck but i wouldn't say its competition ready tho as there are a few mods which are kinda necesary even tho i haven't done them to mine i will be very soon ;) these are the 4wheel steering kit and replacing the standard stick pack battery with a smaller lighter battery pack which you can position on the front axle, axial supply parts for doing both of these, also they offer some kinked lower arms which increase ground clearance, however do you think i can find any of the after market parts in the uk :( as for the price, my girlfriend bought me mine and paid £189 for the kit alone. i use stock futaba 2ch radio an lrp truck puller 2 motor i went for the 12v so i could play with the battery power a bit, and at the mo i am using a tamiya teu101 esc which works fine, i am on my third servo however, as although you get a servo saver in the kit it can stop you steering in tight places as it will do its job and take the strain, the servo i am using at the mo hasn't broke and is working good, its a hitec hs322hd i think? so yeah the package on ebay looks awesome value mate. i will try and upload some pics for you and if there are any pics you want or more info let me know. nice one Mike

This one
LINK from ebay but maybe
This kit without electrics could turn out to be as good or the same deal for $14 more but with beadlock wheels.
or were you being sarcastic purpletimbo? lol I'm sleepy its hard to tell :a_head:

$205 is a good deal
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXRXH6&P=ML$64 cheaper than tower unless he stiffs the postage, and factor in 17.5% of the price plus postage together, pplus £8 fee for parcelforce, only way anything form US gets here, no dodging it from there, or not enough chance to take anyway.

i got mine from modelsport, i was tempted by the cheap american deals bought have been stung before by the extra charge when the parcel turns up :(
the rtr deals models port offer are good value but not well suited to the truck, a low turn motor would be wasted in this truck as it would simply twist and contort with any sort of speed. you want a high turn slow motor, really good choice is the integy 55 turn motor you'll find them on ebay, i have two of them in this monster

this is my clod based twinset chassis, the wheels are ho bao, it has a locked rear axle but open front, i am having probs with the steering as at the mo i am using a y lead, would prefer to have 3 ch radio. the shocks are tamiya tgm-04 and are awesome apart from the one has a leak and needs rebuilding :S its a bit bigger than the scorpion

i still find myself using the scorpion more tho maybe its because it easyier to transport and the battery last for ages i will get a 45 mins from a 2000mah, anyway back to the scorpion.
what i did agdr was order the chassis kit and the motor but used old radio gear and old esc. i figured the motor is the main part and the other parts are standard fitment, save you some honey ;)
let us know what you decide mate
heres another shot of my mod clod in the nude :jump:

agdr i just looked at the deals you have found on ebay and they look really good, i'd be really tempted by the more expensive one tho. it is hard to get the parts in the uk and unless you plan on fabricating them yourself you will run the truck stock and not to its full potential, a bit like me
