Title: My 9-5 project(s)...
Ritchie - March 5, 2008 01:55 PM (GMT)
Sadly not my car, belongs to the company, but its practically my baby... Takes up most of my time at the minute (its what I'm doing during work hours when I'm not reading threads on here! :joker: )... As she is usually:

As she is now, very much 'Work In Progress', getting everything repaired and up to scratch prior to a fresh colour scheme for the new season:

Its known as the "HKS RS-2", based on a Nissan Silvia S15, its an ex Japanese D1-winning drift car. Runs about 480bhp from a Nissan SR20 DET engine, stroked to 2.2, with more mods than you can shake a stick at. Some of you would know it as the beastie replicated by Yokomo with their HKS Silvia Drift Package...
Matt - March 5, 2008 01:59 PM (GMT)
verrrry nice  do you get to drive it?
Ritchie - March 5, 2008 02:13 PM (GMT)
Yeah, but very rarely in anger. I used to be a race instructor a few years ago, before I went back into engineering, but despite owning a 200SX in the past and mucking about in that, I'm not much of a drifter, so I don't even try to drift this (it would make a stunning trackday car with a few setting changes)! But even just trundling it around the paddock roads in Silverstone is a laugh, people just stop and stare, you feel like you're on set of Shaun of the Dead or something

Trust me, by the time you get to the weekend, 2 wheels are a welcome change!!
Ritchie - March 6, 2008 04:27 PM (GMT)
This is our other sort-of competition car...

I lost count of how many weekends I lost last year following this :cursing: thing around the country, nursing it. We built an engine for it (594bhp  ), and the owners put it in a near standard car. Naturally there were teething problems, but the novelty wore off and they sold it to us just before it all came good. We're planning to remove the ABS asap to get a few extra seconds out of it, and it should be competitive next time it runs. I'm desperately hoping to get it resprayed first though! :gay:

Progress update:
Over the last couple of weeks I've been doing a lot of bodywork, battle damaged front bumper/ wings, and some bonnet damage from when one of the guys took it for a spin without fastening the bonnet pins... :censored:
Then had to get all the old graphics off it...
I've also plumbed in a new Lifeline mechanical extinguisher, and fitted an external electric cut out so she's all up to MSA/ FIA spec for whatever circuits she ends up at this year. Then, my personal favourite bit, is we got the air jacks sorted! Its awesome, just hook it up to a nitrogen bottle, and 15 bar will lift the whole car a foot off the ground for touring car style tyre changes :D
Anyway, took a picture of her in the buff earlier on (she's off to SDS Racegraphics next week to get the new graphics fitted), I think it looks better without the graphics, it'd make an awesome looking road car!
