Title: getting new savage x ss!
Description: any suggestions of stuff to get

seany5060 - February 28, 2008 06:59 PM (GMT)
hey sold my car now :D so dad said i could buy the savage i wanted. just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on radio gear or fuel to get.

the car :cruising:
savage x ss bought from modelsport.com (cheapest for a new one).

The radio gear :rc_car:
thought about getting a Hitec Aggressor SRX for transmitter/reciever(will use servo that comes with it for throttle) as is a 3 channel so i can use reverse at touch of a button(switch). (is this a good transmitter people.)

will get Hitec 645 MG BB Servo for steering (is this good enough?)

may get Futaba S3014 Standard BB for reverse (is this ok for what i want it to do?)

may also get HPI Hump Battery Pack for Receiver (but what charger do i need for it?)

do i need any leads/connecters/switches also which is the right switch (form modelsport) that i will need to use. (e.g. which connecter do i want it to have?)

will get HPI Savage Reverse Module (using 3 channel transmitter so don't need mixer)

The Fuel:beer:
getting Byron Race Fuel 25% 1 US Gallon (ok?)

The extras
may also get HPI Savage Wheelie Bar while i'm in the buying mood as i've heard it can roll over backwards from stop. (don't want to wreck the bodyshell on the first outing do i?)

also what diff oil and shock oil do people recommend (from modelsport) what weights?

oh and do i need any glue to glue the wheels to the tyres as it is a kit model and i haven't built one from scratch before

oh and maybe a skid plate (off of ebay when i've built the actual thing and got some more money as this is all quite expensive)

I think i have mentuioned everything that i need, should be a nice truck :bling: when i'm finished, comments are welcome people.

cheers
sean.

i recommend to buy venom rx hump packs not the hpi one is expensive but got same spec as venoms

seany5060 - February 28, 2008 07:10 PM (GMT)
what puplretimbo are you saying that the one that comes with the srx will handle the steering? i was going to use it on the throttle oh no i get you now don't worry

seany5060 - February 28, 2008 07:13 PM (GMT)
what kris you say i sjould get the Venom Racing 6v 1200mAH NiMh Receiver Hump Pack (modelsport)

what charger do i need with this?

purpletimbo - February 28, 2008 07:15 PM (GMT)
there was an unused Hitec MG645BB in my aggressor box, the 1/5 already had quarter scale servos in, so it was surplus, must have come with the radio, and that was what you suggested for steering, one is doing Jedi's Balzer I think

managed to somehow get it all back together but havn't started it yet so don't know if it will work. lol

hey just one last question.

when i've finished it (soon) should i run it in on modeltechnics 16% then switch to byrons 25% or start with the byrons from the start.

its just my buggies ran on 16% and i have some left, but i have also gat a gallon of 25%. will it matter which i run it in on?

cheers (pics up later today, probably this evening)
