Title: My completed Deans RPB!
Description: (something different!!)
Jedi Master - February 26, 2008 12:56 PM (GMT)
This is a bit different to most projects, but just wanted to share with you another of my interests! (as I talk so much about it!! :joker: )
This is my newly finished 'River Patrol Boat' made by Deans Marine!
The boat is entirely 'scratch built' except for the hull and the guns, which were pre-formed. Everything else was made from plasti-card and was shaped, glued and then painted for effect!! Its the type of thing you really need to have the patience for! :joker:
The boat has a small 400 size motor in the bow, which I'll run from a dinky 7.4v lipo. She will be very fast!! :banana_jump:

Comments welcome!
And she'll be making her maiden voyage at Cannop Ponds in a week or so and will hopefull be video'd so I'll post too.

Honestly you don't want to know!!! :P
If the parts were die-cut then you could build it in a day, and then maybe another 2 days to do the two tone painting.
It's taken me a couple of months doing a few hours a week. Mainly because the parts have to be cut and sanded and then offered up to the model to check that you've done it right. then it has to be glued together at different stages as you have to use different bonding techniques, sometimes its Milliput, then Cyo, Contact adhesive and polystyrene cement, and they all have different drying times. :jump:
As I said in the first post, you do need to have patience for it. Try and rush it and it won't fit together or work properly. :P
The proof will be in the sailing, when she goes on the water at Cannop, we'll see how good I built her!!! :joker: (and because it vastly overpowered, I went overboard on many aspects of the build!)
