Title: 1/6 scale nitro drifter

dimelo - February 25, 2008 06:51 AM (GMT)
I'm starting a new project and need all the help I can get. I'm going to build a 1/6 scale nitro drift car, however I haven't been able to find a undercarriage to start the project. Any ideas?

Wow, you've set yourself a real challenge there.

But why a 1/6 Nitro? Most 1/6 RC's are petrol so your gonna need a big powerful nitro engine to get something that size drifting. Why not start with 1/8th scale? You'll find evrything you need at this size.

I have a 1/8 scale now but my .28 motor is to powerful for me to drift it properly so I'm going to go big. Plus my star wars theme will show up better on the bigger car. I think it'll be a show car for the most part until I get better at drifting.

Wow, sounds awesome, good luck with it, and look forward to seeing some pics and video!!!

schumacher big6?

purpletimbo - February 25, 2008 10:39 AM (GMT)
Schumacher big six, or a Protech Max, both 1/6 and both nitro, or electric on the schumacher as well
I have had a few big sixes, still got one electric and 3 shells
Tend to always be Lotus Elise, and the Protechs favour 206 I think

Schumachers come with a 3 speed option and a thunder tiger 21 race engine stock
Hope this helps

Dimelo, what are you doing for tyres, and are you going to use a 2WD chassis?

dimelo - March 5, 2008 01:04 PM (GMT)
I'm not sure about tires yet, I'll probably go with a 1/8 scale wheel depending on ride height. As for the chassis, a 4WD if I can find it or modify it.

I think I'll go for a .28 motor but this is going to be a slow going project. I just picked up a Team Losi 8ight buggy that I'm going to get race ready. My wife is going to kill me but I'm addicted :D :D :D . Has anyone had any problems with Team VTX engines? I have a spare .28 and I'm having problem with it and the one on my landmax 2.

no point selling without as they don't fit anything else :D
hard to price as I can't find a completed electric one.
And will cost to post as they are seriously big.
