Title: Jedi Masters Cars!
Description: Comments welcome!!

Jedi Master - February 5, 2008 02:40 PM (GMT)
Well, I've been a member of the forum for quite some time now, and thought I'd better get some of my cars put up. I've recently sold a load off, as I'm not collecting anymore, just bashing!!!

The first is my Hyper 7 PBS. Had it 6 months and I love it. My main bash buggy!! Just fitted a Nova Pro cooling head to the .21 8 port engine. Its got uprated shocks, new wheels and tyres, a Spektrum DX3R radio system and a Hi-torque steering servo. And also an Integy fuel primer/filter!! Spnsored by RCR of course! (and a couple of girlies on the wing!! LOL!!) :joker:

It's just been fully stripped. serviced and rebuilt by Matt, and he did a superb job!!! He's also set it up properly for me!!

Jedi Master - February 5, 2008 02:46 PM (GMT)
The second is my OFNA Blazer SST, which I recently bought off Matt. It is in brand new condition having only been run a couple of times. I've fitted a Nova Pro cooling head to the .26 Force engine and I'll soon be putting the 2-speed conversion on it, that will take it over 50mph!!

Spektrum receiver is due to be fitted and it already has uprated shocks. I've fitted the chrome bars and the wing mirrors, to the bodyshell, but left off the front and rear bumper because these will break on its first bump.

Its also got a cheeky new mascot on the bonnet!!! :joker:

I cannot speak highly enough of this model. It is so much fun to run and is suprisingly quick and agile. Using full brakes on grass will make it front flip!!! This has kept going through thick and thin and seems to take whatever I throw at it. It never breaks and holds its own against 1/8 buggy's and truggy's. Whenever I run it I get looks of surprise and dis-belief when I say its a Tamiya!!!

Comments welcome as always!!

I love it so much that I have another brand new one to use when this one finally dies. Its a discontinued model now so they are getting hard to find. She's got Spektrum installed and will be at every bash I attend!!!

Marc.. RC Addict! - February 9, 2008 10:05 PM (GMT)
Nice one mate, yeh i really like the look of that crusher B)

Any car/truck/buggy that every time you use it, it makes you feel good and whatever you throw at it, it handles and dont break, its defo one to keep :D

HAPPY RC-ING.. :rc_car:

Jedi Master - February 9, 2008 11:13 PM (GMT)
Yep, I think Tamiya got it spot-on with this one!!!

Jedi Master - February 11, 2008 03:18 PM (GMT)
This is my second SS resto. It is all original except for the custom parts and the repro decals. I decided that I wanted something 'more special' than a typical shelf queen, so this has many custom parts installed. It has; hop-up 'period' coil spring dampers, alloy exhaust, CRP front brace, 'chunky' alloy bumper, alloy rear cage, alloy wheels and a custom set of fitted LED lights. You would not know these were installed unless you switched them on. The front lights are blue through the standard clear lenses and the rear are red through the standard red lense. There is a white LED fitted in the middle of the steering wheel to light the drivers face and also another white LED fitted to the inside of the rear of the shell, this lights up the rear alloy parts and looks great. The bodyshell was finished to a very high standard by 'Monty' (thankyou!) and tops-off the high spec of this model. I truely believe this is one of the best out there, not because its perfect (because its a resto not a new build) but because its truely individual. A real one-off!!! I am stoked with the result and would love to hear your thoughts!!

TWO WARDS.

BLOODY CLASS..

great job mate that looks really nice, ive not seen nothing like it before,
good job on the lights aswell, let me know if you ever want a more powerful setup

superb project

HAPPY RC-ING.. :rc_car:

Jedi Master - February 11, 2008 06:39 PM (GMT)
Thanks Marc, wish I could get some better pics as the camera auto-adjusts to the LED's. Trust me, I couldn't get ang LED's brighter than that, they hurt your eyes to look at them. Almost like laser-light!!

They are 50,000 mcd? (whatever that means!) :joker:

Marc.. RC Addict! - February 11, 2008 07:40 PM (GMT)
hello mate, yeh your have the same problem i had when trying to take photos, the camera cant handle the LED brightness and adjusts itself, lol

The LEDs i get range from 5,000 to 55,000 MCD. the MCD also depends on colour, for example, its easy to get a 55,000 MCD white 5mm (water clear) LED but you would not be to to find a blue 5mm (water clear) LED brighter then 22,000 MCD.

If you got 50,000MCD LED's good on you mate, great choice, nice one they are one of the brightest LED's you can buy  MCD is LUMINOUS INTENSITY (more MCD the brighter the LED)

Dont be taking away my customers now :joker: :joker:

Jedi Master - February 11, 2008 07:44 PM (GMT)
I bought these years ago for a boat project.

To be honest I think they are a little too bright.

Don't worry, I don't make em (wouldn't have a clue) and I'll be getting all of my future purchases from you!!!

Do you do different colours that are 'frosted' rather than clear?

Marc.. RC Addict! - February 11, 2008 08:05 PM (GMT)
Cool, yeh its got to keep stuff packed away, never know when things come in handy

Yeh im not suprised you think they are a little to bright i did aswell when i installed 55,000 MCD LED's on my T-MAXX, but now ive got 40,000 MCD white lights on it, they are just as good as real car lights, the brighter LED's are better for helis i think.

Ive also got some crazy LEDs, ive not been brave enough to use them yet, they go like a disco light, flashing 3 different colours slowly then speed up, there a bit to crazy, lol

I dont have any of the coloured or frozed type LED's but i can get then for ya,

But also, a bit like yourself i got some LEDs ages ago they are 3mm 12v ready red coloured 'frosted' red LEDs, these are Boat Nav lights, i have no use for them at all mate so if you want them you can have them, there not that bright but they may come in handy for you if you still have your boat, or maybe for another project, if you want them let me know and ill send them to you for FREE of course

If you do ever want a light setup from me ill be happy to do you one mate, just give me a shout

HAPPY RC-ING.. :rc_car:

Jedi Master - February 11, 2008 08:34 PM (GMT)
Cool, thanks dude.

I'll come back to you about those red nav lights. I do have a new boat coming and have an idea...... I want a stack of those red frosted ones to go on the hull top, so I'll let you know, once I got the boat, exactly what I need!!!

Marc.. RC Addict! - February 11, 2008 08:41 PM (GMT)
your welcome mate no prob's, yeh just let me know

HAPPY RC-ING :rc_car:

Jedi Master - February 12, 2008 10:41 AM (GMT)
This is my vintage 1/8 scaleMardave Stockmaster.

I got it brand new and unused. It has a proper steel chassis and weighs a ton. I have two original Irvine 20 engines for it, which both have great compression and are really easy to start. I remember watching these race a Brean Sands when I was a kid and it was the first time I smelt nitro fuel. Been after one ever since. Both engines have been stripped and serviced and I've fitted 40 meg radio gear. The white wing is custom made by myself and needs to be painted. With spring suspension and no brakes, I've not yet dared to run it. :joker: It runs on foam tyres and is designed to mirror the full size versions in Oval Racing. It has its own custom made starter box and is a real vintage item.

This is my Robitronics 1/18 Scalpel carpet racer!!!

Its full of alloy and carbon and is a real peice of precision engineering. I have a full set of spare parts and three tiny 'saddle pack' nimh batts for it. This little beast will absolutely fly, but the closest I've come to seeing one run is on U-tube! :(

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_brtXmIO1U

I simply have no-where to run it!! Gutted!!

This is my 'Bandit Boats' El Lobo II. Its a fast electric oval racer that is designed to run on 6 cells. I recently ran it on 8 cells and managed to flip it :jump: Which left me, Matt and Alan spending and hour trying to retrieve it from Cannop ponds!! It very nearly went to a watery grave!! :joker: (see the video below)

http://rc-racing.org.uk/index.php?showtopic=3597

Its got full alloy hardware and uses an Octura Bronze Berillium prop that has been balanced and sharpened. Powered by a Feigo 540 brushless and a Castle Creations Barracuda 80 ESC, I now run it using a 14.4volt lipo and it absolutely flies!!!

Jedi Master - February 19, 2008 11:13 AM (GMT)
This is my Mini Brushless Hydroplane. Its very light and has a 400 brushless motor with a 2500kv rating. Doesn't sound much but I run it on an 11.1v lipo, which produces over 27,000rpm. With a sharpened and balanced bronze prop its very effective at transmitting the power. Would benefit from a respray, but have many other projects on the go right now. Is available for sale for the right offer, RTR with Lipo and radio gear!
