NICE!!!!!!! :cool2:
Jedi Master - January 27, 2008 12:20 AM (GMT)
Expensive though!!!
I think Tim has sourced a supply direct from the manufacturers and may already be planning to get a shipment!!!!
Jono - January 27, 2008 01:24 AM (GMT)
I dont personally like it i think it looks like something from the early learning centre
plus you guys noticed how small the shafts are through the wheels and look like they std 1/10 wheel nuts on there with 30cc engine i dont think they will last especially off road
Matt - January 27, 2008 01:44 AM (GMT)
fair comment Jono about the axles didn't notice those, i really like the look of it though hmmm might have to buy one for summer
Matt - January 27, 2008 01:52 AM (GMT)
russmini - January 27, 2008 10:13 AM (GMT)
Mmmmmmm We'll see.
You all know what i think of Cheap 1/5th Scales !!!!!!!!
Just Save a bit longer and get a Decent Make....

Ross'i - January 27, 2008 10:26 AM (GMT)
30cc isnt a bad engine in a unit that weight bet its quite quick.

these are mcd clones russ, my view is why spend near a grand on a mcd just for bashing, these look ideal in my opinion, as if i had a 1/5 i would want 4wd
STR33TRAC3R - January 27, 2008 11:51 AM (GMT)
MCD's don't have carbon chassis's though.
Not even a nitro 10th touring comes with a carbon chassis, because they are to weak.
But like you've said matt that is as good as an exact copy of a £1000 MCD race runner Evo2.
Hope these are mass produced and sold for the same price.
Very interesting find.
In fact that's the best thing i've ever seen R/C wise. Truley amazing. The second being these weird little things.

Jedi Master - January 27, 2008 12:14 PM (GMT)
Now they are wierd. Who'd have thought that the enviromentalists would b cashing in on the RC scene!!! :joker: :joker: :joker:
Wonder what 'hop-ups' they do? :joker:
STR33TRAC3R - January 27, 2008 01:42 PM (GMT)
I think they look pretty good to. 10 of those going around a track racing would look cool.

But that £500 petrol r/c is truely unbelievable. Wonder how much the 4WD will cost.
monty - January 27, 2008 05:57 PM (GMT)
gotta go with russ here guys after all the last hpi baja copy LOOKED ok but proved to be of vastly inferior quality it must be said !!
especially those shredding tyres :banghead:
wouldnt chuck my money into one thats for sure well not until i have at least seen one running and taking some serious abuse!!
and those h cell things look so slow i think the best upgrade would be a decent battery :joker:
Matt - January 27, 2008 06:05 PM (GMT)
i'll be getting the 2wd one in 1st pic, then the 4wd upgrade kit for it
so we can give it a good thrashing in summer bashes :D
spares are readily available too apparently

Yeah but it's not a cheapo version.
That is a complete copy of a £1000 MCD evo 2 which is the best you can get.
Yeah i agree they're slow. But a hydrogen powered r/c car for £60.
monty - January 27, 2008 06:59 PM (GMT)
think you will find it is just a cheapo rip off of an mcd ;)
but go buy one and prove me wrong by all means

Ok, there's No doubting it Is a Copy...
What Monty and Me are Sceptical of, is...
I could probably Copy a Rolls Royce given maybe £10,000 !!!
But by Fuck it Wouldn't Go/Handle/Last etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc Like One !!!!!!!
I do Hope that Someone Proves Me (and Monty) Wrong. Then i may go out and Buy one for Myself.

Jedi Master - January 27, 2008 08:16 PM (GMT)
Russ do you do convertables? I've always wanted a roller and £10k seems reasonable!!!
Do you take credit cards??? :joker:

STR33TRAC3R - January 27, 2008 09:06 PM (GMT)
So much is the same as the MCD it's not even funny.
I think i't excactly the same as the MCD race runner. The MCD race runner evo has a few slightly different parts.

Good point.
Not sure about the carbon chassis my self.
Ross'i - January 27, 2008 09:21 PM (GMT)
Ive got to say im with Russ too.
I can see they look almost identical to the MCD's and from the photos look very well made but there is one thing ive learned over the years in consumer electronics at varios levels and thats.....
"YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"
sorry to put it like that but its true ;)

fair point but there is no way i'd pay a grand for a car just to bash even if i had the money!
looks like i'm gonna have to be first person to buy one and you guys can check it out.
Jedi Master - January 27, 2008 10:15 PM (GMT)
I'll go halves with ya Matt!!!
It'll be like playing 'hot potato'!!!

You never know. to be honest i fancy one. I've wanted to go to petrol for a long time. Manily because of cost of nitro fuel.
Don't really fancy a petrol because their slow. This one comes with a 30cc engine.
Have been told countless times the best for the money is the HPI. This one looks like a 2WD MCD race runner for £400. Amazing.

Yeah that is true.
But it's also true that my Mugen MBX5R is for sale at about £150. LOL
Matt - January 27, 2008 10:56 PM (GMT)
yep plus there is a 4wd upgrade kit available very soon!
Jono - January 27, 2008 11:30 PM (GMT)
look for a 2nd hand marder off ebay for about £150 then get this 4wd kit for £170
so for £320 for a better built car only downsize is marder either have a zenoah 23cc or a 26cc engine but they are still quick and powerfull my old fg was running a 23cc and that had a lot of poke..
4wd kit
