ojay93 - January 20, 2008 07:15 PM (GMT)
do you mean the ansmann will do your 4200's in under an hour or the pro peak 2500 yellow fronted thingys will d0 your 4200's in under an hour cause there where 2 chargers mentioned so im a little confused (this is aimed at rcmadd)

Right...

The Problem with the Cheaper Chagers out there is...

They usually have a Delta Peak Above 3mv.

This is Absoloutly Fine for Ni-Cads and some of the more Standard Ni-Mh's.

As you may or may not be aware (there is some discussion on another thread) there has been some Very Dramatic Explosions regarding IB Ni-Mh's. It has happened to other makes as well, but seems to be a certain few batches from IB that have really been bad.

Now, with IB's, you should Never charge with a Greater than 3mv Delta Peak. Some other makes are fine at a bit more.

I Don't want to get you Overly Worried, but i also don't want to see you have any Problems.

The Only Chargers i would Reccomend are, as i have previously said usually Above £75.

I have however just bought one of these for my Nephew. We have used it a few times now on some Venom 3600 Ni-Mh's and it seems to be Fine.

This as you can see, Charges at 1,2 and 4 Amps.

I did Not get it from Modelsport. I got it as usuall from BMM.

Hope this Helps

ojay93 - January 20, 2008 07:46 PM (GMT)
looks good russ, but what about disscharge at the mo i just soldered a couple of wires to a buld and let it empty its self in a corner but i could be done much faster in that asmann with a 1 amp disscharge

ojay93 - January 20, 2008 07:49 PM (GMT)
also russ i skimmed across this on motor sport but this would take me a couple of months to save for.

1 Amp Discharge will take Forever.....

Light Bulb.... Mmmmmm, OK about 10 Years ago. Get a Cheap Discharge Tray. About £16.

That Charger looks Pretty Good. You could probably pick up a 2nd hand Orion for that though. Ask Matt, he Did.

Awesome Charger !!!!!

But if thats Way too Much.... This is Probably The Best for This Price.

just downloaded and read the manual for the ansmann charger, there is no setting for the delta peak and it doesn't say what the default setting is which is most likely much higher than 3mv as it uses same settings to charge nicads as it does nimh also doesnt have a temp sensor so i take back what i said about it in previous post sorry for confusion
