No. 1 question... Why are you Charging at such a Low Rate ???? !!!!!!!
But to Answer your Question, it's a Simple matter of Math...
3000mah = 3A, so...
Your Charging at 1A and 2A, thats how much it'll put Into your Cells in 1 Hour.
So, 3 / 1 = 3 Hours !!!!
3 / 2 = 1.5 Hours !!!!
You really want to Charging at around 4.5amps to 5amps...

Ok,
Personally i Would Never Use a Charger like that on NiMh's. But, i can Understand that Money is Money, and you may Not be able to Afford a Proper Charger.
You should be Ok with it charging at such a Low Rate, but it still does Not give Any Confidence to me, because There will be No way of Adjusting the mv for Delta Peak.
Just keep an eye on them, Temp etc wise.

Yeh, seen the like before on Ebay.
They should (and Probably Will) be fine.
The type of Cell they use is a Lot Lower Spec etc than what we use for Racing. And therefore are not Made to be so Powerfull, which in turn means, they won't be made to such an Extremely tight tolerance.
When i got back into RC, and then Very Shortly after into Racing TC... I spent a Lot of Hours on the Internet Researching Cells and Chargers. After a Lot of time i Spent a Lot More Money than what i was Originally going to Spend. But... I am Glad, because, i may have Killed, Blown Up the Cells i had decided on if i had gone for an Inferior Charger.
Like i said, You get what you pay for.
For Bashing around etc, you should be fine with those.
Unfortunatly it's the Wait that you'll Soon get fed up with, waiting for them to Charge.

so russ if i went and bought a 4 or 4.5 or even 5 amp charger it would blow them up so in the future what charger and batts would you recommend.
russmini - January 20, 2008 03:34 PM (GMT)
No, i'm not saying it Would Blow them up. But without the Proper Specs etc you stand a Much Greater risk of it Blowing up.
A Typical Good Charger is in the region of £75 Miniumum.
Mine is £125 and you can go a Lot More than that.
Like i've said before here and elsewhere, do Not get worried over some of the Scaremoungering going around, but at least take head of some of it. Cause there is some Truth in the Explosions that have happened lately.

ojay93, are you using your batterys for bashing or pro rc racing???
if for bashing! save all your troubles by getting a pro peak charger, a great and simple charger for a great price,
ojay93 - January 20, 2008 07:11 PM (GMT)
i dont know i want to get into racing but bashing is fun. and also im under sixteen so its hard to get a job and then well difficult to get funds. i had to save ages to get my car and batts so itl be like 3 months before i can get anything good i could probably be able to get a pro peak 2500 in prob a month of saving.
Marc.. RC Addict! - January 20, 2008 07:16 PM (GMT)
Yeh i know what its like saving! i hate saving and im not very good at it,lol
if i was you mate, id try and save up for the pro peak, you can get them quite cheap now aswell.(under £40) the charger will last you many years and charge most batteries. best choice for bashing i think.

Marc.. RC Addict! - January 20, 2008 07:28 PM (GMT)
russ is mostly the man when it comes down to knowing most knowledge about things and same goes for here aswell.. as russ said mate, it charges at a very low amp, and charging time it not great, plus not being funny but its a bit cheap and nasty i think, you could get a pro peak for that price and its a much better product.
sorry to say it but the best thing about that charger is the looks, i think..
ojay93 - January 20, 2008 07:36 PM (GMT)
im even more confused matt says yes you say no (but its 1 to 5 amps that pretty fast isnt it because the pro peak 2500 is only 3.5 amps)
Marc.. RC Addict! - January 20, 2008 07:46 PM (GMT)
Only reason i say no mate is because i stick to what i know, ive used pro peak chargers for many years, and i will probs always use untill i have to change, like most things you get what you pay for, ive never had any issues with pro peak chargers thats why i stick to them..
If you think that charger will do the job you need it to, buy it mate
