compared to ni-cad's ni-mh batteries have a higher capacity and are less toxic so you can have more fun and be less toxic at the same time lol

If you really wanted to get confused I could start telling you about lipo's. They are the future, but if caution is needed as charging them correctly is critical to stop them exploding.
This is what happens when you over charge them
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQ0SNESIkWk&feature=related'Lipo-sacks' are mandatory for your safety.

Don't blame you.
They're good but you pay for the privilidge!!
I'm about to order some for a new RC boat I'm putting together. 21volt, 4000mah and because I need them to chuck out over 120amps they are 30c discharge rate.
Cost (each)???.........
.................£180!!! :jump:

Oh and lets Not get Carried away...
Ni-Cad and Ni-Mih are Just as Dangerous as LiPo !!!!
Ni-Cad should Not actually be available really anymore, It was Banned from being Manufactured a few Years ago now...
Ni-Mh is only really any Better, cause it Had to take over from the Demise of the Manufacture of Ni-Cad. If they had carried on, they would have the Capacity etc that Ni-Mh has...
LiPo is the Future, if the Bloody Governing Bodies Let it In 100%. This seems to be getting closer looking at the Big Race Series this year.
All you have to do though with NiMh is...
Buy a Good Charger !!!!!!!
Not All (even though they Say they do) can Charge a NiMh Properly and Correctly.

Wow, didn't know that Russ.
With that in mind I gues the only real advantage then is the weight reduction!
