Title: Spectrum Radio Gear!
Description: What, why and best fit???

Jedi Master - January 13, 2008 01:07 AM (GMT)
Hey all, just need to pick your brains for knowledge on the new spectrun 2.4ghz radio gear.

Here's what I'm after;

Radio gear that;

1. Doesn't need crystals so I never have to worry about interference.
2. 2 channels
3. Multi model memory capability
4. End point adjustments and tweakability
5. Easily available additional receivers for adding to new/existing models of mine
6. Works with currently owned servo's (do they do that anyways?)
7. Reliable

Basically I want to shed all of my 27mhz and 40 mhz stuff and just have one handset that I can use for everything.

I know that plenty of you out there have them so I'd love to hear about what you have and whether you found it good, bad etc.

I'm about to spend £1500 on my next boat project and will be buying new radio gear for it so I'm hoping to do it for the last time. If you could include prices for the main sets and also the seperate items, additional receivers/servo's, that would also help.

Thanks in advance guys, I'm all ears!! :joker:

Next thing in spektrum is thhat it is working on DSM and dx3r on DSM2 technology, it is not just shit on 2.4ghz - like i have seen acoms 4 70pounds per set :joker:

I got just one more question: can I use normal failsafe tht i use for 40mhz radio with spektrum ????

russmini - January 13, 2008 05:16 PM (GMT)
Don't Call 2.4Ghz, Spektrum.

Spektrum is a Brand Name.

It uses the 2.4Ghz Band.

So, you have the choice of...

Spektrum

Futaba FASST

KO (not just yet, but Very soon).

Acoms, Mmmmmmm, maybe not, Very Ugly

Those are Pure 2.4Ghz.

Then you have the Radio's that you can put a Module in. These mainly run using Spektrum Technology.

Futaba

KO. Helios EX10 which is Steerwheel (like mine Luke).

KO Espirit 2 (but you have to send it to Helger to get it reworked to fit Spektrum)

KO Espirit 3, New Version of above.

Airtronics, JR, Sanwa... Think they're all the same really.

That any Help mate ??

Oh and if you go Spektrum... I know for sure that Failsafe's are Built In !!!!! And it Works.

The R is worth the Extra to be completely Honest.

It is a Much Better handset with more Features etc etc.

But obviously if you Don't need it.... Then, save Your Cash.

Fair comment dude!!

I mainly want it for the 30 different models that it can remember. The standard version only has a 4-model memory and I got 7 cars and 5 boats at the moment. and I'll probably do a bit of racing at some point in the years to come so it'll be cheaper for me in the long run!

Yes they are in the top percentage.

I must say though, that I'm really swayed towards Bolton Model Mart. I'd not used them until this Forum recommended them and they have been brilliant. Their service is second to none. When I bought a Team Magic glow starter and a new IB4200 cell for it the cell was 'blown'. They send me a new one with 2 cells as a replacement.

I'll definately use them where I can.
