This URL is pants - you need to buy yourselves a proper domai..... JEES! This is one FAST suggestion box! :o

Mad Zero - November 29, 2005 12:57 PM (GMT)
How about a gallery linked to our usernames? We could check out each other's models to see who was into what and, as the pics would then be hosted by RCR, it might simplify posting pics in the forums? Discuss...

Matt - November 29, 2005 01:25 PM (GMT)
Hi,
as regards the URL its www.rc-racing.org.uk

this one is pretty good and its a good one to have imo

yes great idea about the gallery i`m definately looking into it.

although hosting costs money and this forum is free to join so

we have to weigh up the pros and cons

Yes I saw the new URL but why is it not cloaked? It would look much smarter with www.rc-racing.org.uk in the box instead of: http://s14.invisionfree.com/rc_racing/inde...DE=02&f=21&t=35 - don't you think?

Perhaps members who wanted one could 'rent' a gallery for a nominal fee to offset admin costs?

Matt - November 29, 2005 02:52 PM (GMT)
Thankyou for your comments ;)

yes it can also be setup as that no problem except....

if you want to give a link of a thread to someone then you won`t be able to...

ie for this page you can copy and paste the link from address bar...

http://rc-racing.org.uk/index.php?showtopi...t=0#entry671638

just trying to make the forum useful for everyone.

as regards the gallery we are currently talking about this, at the moment we have

decided to let the forum run a bit longer, and hopefully when when we have more

members signed up we can put up a vote and see what everyone thinks.

and of course you could always put up a link to another website's showroom if you already have one in the meantime!!

Mad Zero - November 29, 2005 04:24 PM (GMT)
Andy: I was trying to avoid using the word 'showroom' - LOL!

Matt: Yup - I see what you mean about loosing the ability to cut & paste the URL of the actual page ...but I'm elderly so BAH HUMBUG ANYWAY!

hey matt- your a net geeky type, so perhaps you can answer me this and maybe also solve the gallery thing for on here.

there are many sites around like photo bucke and image shack that give free picture hosting. Is there a way to incorporate this site and that in our user info, that way we can in effect set up our own car galleries

Am I making any sense whatsever??.
:joker:    :lost_the_plot:

Hi guys,

Question on MSN links. My MSN address is too long to fit into the field supplied.

I don't use a Hotmail account for it so this is an issue.

Cheers guys

Steve

Hi Matt,

Missing "s.co.uk" off the end... ;)

Sorry to be a pain

Cheers

Steve

Steve, no joy yet as to making the email box larger to accept your email for msn, i'm still working on it though.

Twiz, re the gallery i can't find one that can integrate into this site yet, there is one option which would involve a forum upgrade but its going to cost RCR quite a bit of £££ to setup and not something which is possible at the moment really.

i shall be looking at other options during the week.

Thanks Matt,
RC Racing

personally i am not really that bothered, but it seems some are.
lets face it , there is enough free hosting space out there for the average joe to use. I dont mind doing it that way now i know how. (but then I am a tight arse and dont like the thought of having to spend money!!)
