Title: how wild is the wild dagger?
Description: can you help with my daggers slowness

mikeekim - October 23, 2007 08:07 AM (GMT)
Hi i got this given to me the other day which is awesome, and from the looks of it, its not a bad truck however i need to make it go faster and having not messed with twin motored trucks before thought i should ask before slicing n dicing my escs to try and make it work. :D i want to upgrade the motors add bearings, esc and possibly change the suspension for something a bit longer. also i plan on using one of the hpi muscle shells designed for the tmaxx but don't know if it will fit.

if anyone can enlighten me with any info it would be appreciated.

a member of tc has already given me some idea about the esc options but please tell me what you think.
i'm aiming for speed and handling with this one.
a couple of pics i took already, the truck is totally stock with a knackerd old battery powering it, but it moves ;)

i have in mine two mag mayhem 19t motors and run them off a traxxas emaxx EVX esc which also allows me to use 2 7.2v batteries at the same time :)

my 2nd one runs 2 standard motors off a standard ripspeed no limit esc

the standard (savage/tmaxx type) monster truck muscle shells are longer wheelbase (more 1/8th than 1/10)

BUT hpi also do 1/10 tourer muscle shells which will fit on perfectly i even have a beetle on one of mine

ill find a link to my trucks and post up in a minute for you mate

thats cool monty thank you, how have you wired the two batterys? i'm not too sure about the little wheels but the shell suits it.
also when wiring two motors should i put the negative of one motor with positive of the other? or is that a daft question?

if you get an evx u can use 2 batterys as standard!

ill go take some pics of how the motors are wired in on the standard esc will be easier than trying to explain

yeah you can wire 2x7.2v motors to run off one battery pack or like monty says run the emaxx esc which is designed for twin motor/battery setup

are these emaxx esc expensive? and i loof forward to the pics monty thank you. i was wandering how about if wired two teu101 esc into the truck maybe even giving them a battery each just running them through one reciever would that work?

make sense to ya mate?

cool thank you.
but when running like this does it not result in one motor getting more power to it? could i do this with a normal esc and one battery? or would it be a bit poo

mikeekim - October 23, 2007 09:05 AM (GMT)
and where'd you get that chassis its :cool2:

monty - October 23, 2007 09:07 AM (GMT)
seems to work out just fine never really thought about any power ratio

this is just a normal no limit esc and one battery setup, never had any probs

and chassis was found on ebay years ago think its a one off thing

mikeekim - October 23, 2007 09:11 AM (GMT)
i'll have a play with it and see what happens, i'll report back with my findings, see if i can find one of them chassis also or just make one, doubt it will look as good a s yours tho. nice one

there wont be any noticable current loss in that length of wire so yeah both motors will have same voltage getting to them

My Kyosho Double Dare runs twin le mans stock 27s off a standard MSC and it works fine, they just did a twin wiring loom for it as a separate bit.
The manuals on here somewhere to look at
You can run 22 turn megas off that esc as well.
