Matt_N - October 14, 2007 08:07 PM (GMT)
I think, but I'm not 100% sure, it's a Tamiya Lightweight racing shell. Will there be any marking inside to give any hints??
Matt
P.S. I can ask the previous owner if you want?

purpletimbo, the siver shell is defo Tamiya, but the purple shell does have a different shape around the window on the front doors. It's also made from a different material to my Silver 155 and Focus!!

The Corolla arrived today :D quick question, what bodies will fit the chassis?
Matt
monty - February 5, 2008 09:41 PM (GMT)
should be a 200mm shell i think so any 200mm touring shell should do the trick
just make sure by measuring from the rear left to the rear right wheelarch lips it will be either 190 or 200mm (or as close to either) nitro is usually 200mm though

Matt
Jedi Master - February 6, 2008 09:32 PM (GMT)
Block the exhaust or squeeze the fuel line!
Matt_N - February 6, 2008 09:34 PM (GMT)

Jedi Master - February 6, 2008 09:43 PM (GMT)

You are forgiven, but only this once!!! :joker: :joker: :joker:
purpletimbo - February 7, 2008 02:09 AM (GMT)
Yours has a standard exhaust, the long silver one is a tuned pipe, a considerable upgrade in sound and performance
Marc.. RC Addict! - February 7, 2008 03:48 AM (GMT)
Hi matt,
Sorry mate i had to giggle at the last few post's :joker: :joker:
We was all new at one time though :D
Yeh lukes right, just Block the exhaust or squeeze the fuel line to shut down the engine, the best way really is to squeeze the fuel line as it stops the fuel, putting your finger over the exhaust blocks the system up with pressure then the engine stops, squeezing the fuel line is a cleaner way of stopping the engine
HAPPY RC-ING.. :rc_car:

Matt_N - February 9, 2008 08:49 PM (GMT)
Another few newbie questions :P for running the car in, do I just start the car and leave it? How many full tanks before it's run in? How long do you heat the glow plug for? How do you know pocket booster is working?
Matt
Jedi Master - February 9, 2008 09:04 PM (GMT)
Dude, have you read the manufacturers instructions? Follow their break-in rules and you can't go wrong!!

I've read the instructions, but they say that it doesn't need running in? I thought that all cars that run on fuel need to be ran in?
Matt
Jedi Master - February 9, 2008 11:11 PM (GMT)
As far as I'm aware they do!!! Matt has done a post on here with a good general guide, have a fish around and see if you can find it. Or PM him directly!!!
It will definately need running in!!!
Matt - February 9, 2008 11:47 PM (GMT)
hi luke is spot on there, if no instructions to follow then just follow the basic run in guide for nitro engines, i did make a nice post on here it should be in tech help section somewhere. basically though... idle 2 tanks, then on 3rd tank begin driving the car in oval acelerating for 2 seconds then easing off and so on till tank is empty (let it cool after each tank) then start 4th tank this time increasing it to half throttle for 2-3 second intervals, 5th tank 4 second intervals and also increasing to 3/4 throttle , 6th tank this time the same but going up to full throttle briefly. 7th tank you can start tuning the engine.
as for the glow starter if it doesn't have a meter on the only way of knowing if its working and glow plug is good is to whip the plug out and press it in glow starter to test it, it should glow nice and bright all the way through the wire. just try for 1second or so as it gets very hot quickly and you can/will be burned if not careful, use pliars if you havent done this before.
