a message to those who are intereseted that own 1.10 electric saloon and live near Lichfiled Cannock Rugeley area.

i have been chatting to a member of the rugeley parish council and a councillor in the area over an ideal safe enviroment to run electric 1.10 touring cars.
i have approval to do so and the tarmac is A1 condition and will never have bits of metal on it thus ruining mod motors as it is a fenced off tennis court.
i am going over today with a friend for a trial run (or 2 this summer) to test the waters e.g sort a layout and see how it all fairs really.

im quite keen to get the ball rolling and will take a few pictures today and post them later on!
ive been racing in car parks for a few years and had a off peroid for the past 2 years :( i used to race at burntwood morrisons on a sunday and then went onto towers industial estate in rugely, but should be past that dry point now :)
we had a few rules ( me and 2 friends) to keep it simple and they were 6 cells only and any motor that suits you providing you can control the faster ones ok. short 3 lap races as we have no lap counting equipment. Also new rules would be no chewing gum under any circumstances but you can smoke providing you dont throw your cigarette ends on or around the court.

so the location is ravenhill park in rugeley just off the A51 inbetween lich and rug.
it is a tenis court wit a 7 foot boarder round it so will enought room for no more than ten people id say, and i was thinking of a meet every fortnight on a sunday evening for about 4 hours.
id appreciate any input and ideas even if you are intesrest and cannot make a sunday evening as i am in a position now to strike a deal on price with what time and how long to hire it for. we can have a poll on what times better for all if anyone is interested.
the sessions will be weather permitting obviously if we have say a dozen members it would mean always a half decent turn out and a very cheap rate per person racing.
As it stands its 7 pounds per hour to hire the court out.
no fun dates as yet and at the moment i have the intention of only testing the waters this summer as its drawing to a end, with a view to run regular next summer, but we will see. as it depends on feedback also.

heres a little footage of the tennis court track i went to today.

i couldnt get hold of the key to lower the net so i couldn't remove the net posts but a posibility next time.

i have much more tubing to lay out a decent track and also thinking of making some apexes to join up to the tubing.

Don't look too bad.

What you gonna do for a Rostrum ??

i dont think rostrum wil be needed, i have a bad back so i cant lug too much stuff there.

all can bring a milk crate and i will lay out a track so its not to difficult to see standing on one edge half way along the length of tennis court.

got on well at the shop and councillor sorted me out a cheaper rate as it was small turnout and was testing the waters.
i spent good while picking up stones but after that i found the tarmac absolutely brilliant to race on.

had a few races for fun but it was all over in 2 hours. :cruising:

i sacked the idea for now i could get the key for the net bars so i caused a fatal injury for a rc car.

i am concentrating on other things for a while.
