Title: Need a body shell
Description: 1997/98 kyosho sandmater/s10 sport
ves - July 14, 2007 08:09 PM (GMT)
Help!
i need a body shell,as i am trying to put a old kyosho sandmaster/s10 sport back together.
i need a shell thats 220mm wide from the outside edge of each wheel and length well the original escort coswoth is a massive 480mm but i might be able to make do with 430mm.
the size is 1/10th but its an old 1/10th, i dont think the prueten shell will fit because the engine sits high at the rear and the front is high as well and all the new cars parts sit very close the the chassis.
Any help you can give would me great as i have come to a stand still on this restoration project angry.
i have found this but there are no sizes :(
body shell

Hi Mate,
As the shell size is nearly the same as most 1/10 body shells,
could you post some pictures of your car because then i maybe able to help you find a shell.

If that CEN shell is for a CEN fun factor rally, as I think it is
this is the mini shell that is the same size against a standard Tamiya 1/10 mini shell

I also have various wide shells although no shelf queens
an escort similar to yours from a Kyosho superten buggy based EP TC

A Mercedes the same

and 3 shells from my 1/8 serpent
a 911 with 1/10 astra for scale

A mondeo

and an opel

and a BMW from my Lazer ZX TC converison which Lozi will own tomorrow

don't suppose you're near York by any chance?
:D

There are no markings to give away who made the body shell, my own googleing has told me it should be a cen.
No i'am in northamptonshire (northampton) about 2 and a half hours from you by car lol.
thing is did not want to buy a new 1/10 because there 200mm and mines 220mm.
oh and thats a nice mini by the way .......

Hi ves, Hi tim,
Ves, them pictures help loads mate, i see what you mean the old 1/10 shells are a fair bit bigger then the 1/10 we buy today, the car itself is quite a bit bigger too.
Them shells that tim is showing next to the standerd 1/10 astra look about the right size, im sure tim wouldnt mind having a measure up for ya.
I will also have a look on the internet for you mate, to see if i can find the shell you need, if i find any ill post the pictures and site info, on here for you.
ves - July 16, 2007 07:19 PM (GMT)
Thanks very much my eyes have gone a little square in the last few weeks looking.
Dam internet is great if you know where to look in the first place lol.
Oh i know this is a little cheeky but "WHEELS" is another prob i am having take a look at the pics there also wider than the new ones.also because its 2 wheel drive i can't get a set of wheels with just the hex on the rear wheels(12mm hex) thanks
Marc.. RC Addict! - July 16, 2007 08:06 PM (GMT)
no probs mate ill do my best and have a look around for you, i wish i could but i cant promise ill find them tho, but ill give it a good go for ya
i hate it when a project comes to a stand still, i think we all hate that.lol

Those wheels are heading to Lozi, but they are 1/8 scale Kyosho, much much bigger than 1/10, you need em to fill the shell right
Which mini do you like? The cen fun factor or the vintage Kyosho?
ves - July 17, 2007 02:02 PM (GMT)
The larger of the two is nice, but the vintage one, the smaller of the two is the kind of thing i am after don't want to put a new look shell on an old car,
have seen some very nice looking old style shells us style and British,
the car when finished will get used but not that much the 2nd of the two i am doing is the one i am going to bash around the local fields and car parks lol.
So i would put the vintage shell on i think.
purpletimbo - July 17, 2007 02:13 PM (GMT)
only way to get an old shape mini shell that size is to get a Tamiya TGX Nitro shell
1/8 scale, that one is a Vintage Kyosho EP, same as a nitro Kyosho but both 1/10.
ves - July 17, 2007 06:13 PM (GMT)
if i wanted to get a mini shell like your large one where would i look.because i need 220mm wide and not 200. :D
Marc.. RC Addict! - July 17, 2007 06:51 PM (GMT)
:( man im not having much luck yet mate, ive even looked at hong kong shops still still not luck as yet, ill get looking tho mate.
purpletimbo - July 17, 2007 07:24 PM (GMT)
The large mini shell is off a CEN Fun factor, you can buy the kit new still, so CEN should do shells
Old mini tamiya 1/8 scale which are 220 are hard to find but appear on ebay now and again
Tim

ves - July 20, 2007 01:42 PM (GMT)
This is just a thought guys but....if i put new 1/10 wheels on that might just bring the width down  when i get five mins i'll measure the width and see.any ideas where i can get a set of 2wd wheels (12mm hex) all the ones i have found that i like are 4wd.
can you guys also tell me when they say wheel base what do they mean is it the measurement from the center of the front to the back wheel?
also found these if it helps
sandmaster s10 sport rally (ripmax)rally wheelsbody shell (ripmax)
purpletimbo - July 20, 2007 05:34 PM (GMT)
I got some hex blanks that fill in 4WD wheels to make them free spin for the front, so that would work, also 1/8 wheels are much taller, might look odd with 1/10 on a big shell
And that Super ten EP is whats under my mercedes
with Z-K/92316G wheels
I think

timbo can you let me know where i can get the hex blanks i can't find um :(
purpletimbo - July 24, 2007 05:19 PM (GMT)
Oooh i got a set of 8 in one of my buy a bundle deals from a guy who went out of nitro racing, they might be classed as spacers, which is what i use them for, I had to move the alloys on the Cobra out, as the standard Hyper wheels were much thinner and the new ones fouled the hubs.
Did you win the car with sierra and escort (pink ) shells?
:D
ves - July 24, 2007 07:34 PM (GMT)
i won this little lot now i have 4 spare nitro engines lol......
Lozi - July 24, 2007 07:42 PM (GMT)

ves - July 24, 2007 08:03 PM (GMT)
if the two shells are any good that come with that lot of ebay your more than welcome to one for your Kyosho Sandmaster ST-2....
Lozi - July 24, 2007 08:06 PM (GMT)
ive still got the shell thanks mate, shell is the least of my worries, the bent chassis/knackered gears and engine which hasnt been started for 6 years sat out of the car in a box with no pull start is what im bothered about :joker:
purpletimbo - July 24, 2007 10:27 PM (GMT)
i've got an old school Landcruiser complete bar engine and shell so wither a home for your engine or maybe one for me to make it work?
Lozi - July 24, 2007 10:31 PM (GMT)
the question is how much? :bling:
purpletimbo - July 25, 2007 01:25 PM (GMT)
Got my new 1/8 shell today, wrong one turned out to be this
http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/product_c...ctId=0000000509i don't mid though, but what a size, it's nearer my 1/6 Big six than 1/8 even though that's what it's for
300mm wide 600mm long
ves - July 25, 2007 03:54 PM (GMT)
if you want one of these engines when i get them your more than welcome don't think i'an gunna need 4 of the things,i'an no expert so when i get the others i'll post pics and you can take your pic ,as for price cover the postage and its yours.....
any ideas where i could get a set of tyres like you have on that Landcruiser thats the same as the sandmaster apart from the body posts front and back... was it fitted with the kyosho GT12S CR engine when it was new, cause if it was i already have a spare one of those not sure if its a runner i got it with the last car i got for spares..pull start is there and it all looks ok it turns over when you pull the pull start you can have that if ya want.
Lozi - July 25, 2007 03:58 PM (GMT)
what sort of engines will you be getting, are they GT .12 like the original?
ves - July 25, 2007 04:02 PM (GMT)
when they get here one will be the GT12S CR and 2 i have no idea about they look like junk...but like i said in other post i already have a spare GT12S CR :)
its the top one on this list
GT12S CR
