hi all,

as you all know about the zk2 fiasco well i need some help with sorting it,

if you haven't been here while its been going on i will fill you in on whats up with it,

when you engage the throttle it just jerks forward and the steering servo has a fit,

ive tried a new tranny and rx with no success also have charged the battery 24 hours nothing,

and now its seems its not working at all, the steering servo or the throttle, the esc's lights do flash though,

in think the esc is messed up, am i correct?,

Could well be, but it is hard sometimes to diagnose something when your not there.
Tried new tranny a Rec... Did you try different Crystals ? Make sure they're the same make and the right way round.
all wires ok ?
Soldered properly ?
capacitors on motor? (causes interference without)

Thats all i can suggest at the moment

i forgot to mention that ive changed the crystals and checked every connection,

plus this is mt first electric so ive got to still get to terms with all the different parts on it so, what are capacitors,

hi guys, yeh it does sound like the esc has gone, but as russ says we can be 100% sure, aslo have you tried a new battery? because when my battery goes flat on my RC18T the trottle jerks and so does the servo's but the truck dont move, this is down the the esc not getting enough power. If possible oli post a picture of your esc and try a new battery before you buy any other parts mate.

They will be on the motor, little yellowy/gold things, is the only way i can describe them as to what to look for.
What they do is help stop/supress the noise interference caused by the motor, which would otherwise cause interference and could in the worst of cases lead to some of the dodgy problems you've been having.

the picture was good enough mate,, from what i could see it looks like a nice setup, but i was hoping that the esc was the same as mine, because then the probs do sound more like a dodgy battery then the esc. If every thing else looks ok on the truck I.e connectors, wires and all what russ said :D then there is only a few things for you to do mate, if pos take the truck to a model shop or to someone who can look at the esc and truck for you, or try using a new battery, checking the battery is always a good first step with electric RC stuff.. a spare batery is always worth having so even if you do get another battery and the truck still dont work your know your battery is fine plus your have a spare, for when you get it going. fingers crossed for ya mate thats its not the esc :thumbs_up: im sorry i couldnt help much mate but im still kinda learning too..

your battery a weird shape? show me a pic of your battery and connector mate, and ill most likley have a site that sells them..

try tracking down the manual for that esc and setting it up properly i had one of them at some point but i cant remember how to set it up now sorry

actually its not really a weird shape :lol: i don't know why i said that but its 3x2 but the cells are about an inch lol, slightly less,

because the other battery that came with it (the one with the messed up wires) is the same layout, plus its higher mAh, i would need to ask for a tamiya connector though, anyone found any cheaper or is that about the cheapest i can get?,

Thought that was what you meant, the Mini-T one wouldn't fit i don't think. And looking at the State of the pack in that pic....I'd say they were Fucked !!!! They look in Awful condition.

oh bewdly, ive never heard of it lol sorry mate, if you can get to worthing tho, the best model shop around is there its called sussex model centre its a big yellow shop.. they would look at your truck for FREE...

Ive not had any luck finding the original battery for your truck but ive got two more places to try for you, so if that battery is the same size and is safe to charge on your charger thats good news mate,, and yup the price is good like i said i use that guy mate and im a bargain hunter :) but you may find it cheaper but i dought it.. and they are very good battery types aswell i use them for my RC18T but mine is a differnt shape but the same type,

in ten mins or so ill let you know if ive found your battery

yeh mate your right,, but would still cost about £8 but not being nasty to oli it would be easyer just to but one :)

nah mate just an idea if u find a decent set of rechargables u be away with it but if there like 5quid already built its less hassle
