Marc.. RC Addict! - May 10, 2007 06:09 PM (GMT)
hi all, hope you all have been happy racing..
Im hoping someone can help me, one of the RC trucks i have is an Iwaver mini z monster truck, (yeh the clone LOL) i must admit im happy with it, but im now starting to upgrade it.. ive got a new motor to put in but im hoping someone can help me first.
the motor im going to put in my iwaver monster truck is an iwaver i advance stock motor, the shop i got it from said it will work fine on my iwaver, but i was told yesterday from the shop who i got the monster truck from the the iwaver motor would over heat my PCB, so know im stuck on what to do.
What do you guys think? any help you give i would be very greatful..
thx guys..

not sure on this mate, any ideas on the rating of the speedo?

i guess you could fit it and go for a short test run see if it starts to get hot

everything is in chinese, but what i do know is its ment to be the same as the X speed motor, and its 30,000rpm, not knowing more dont realy help us i know..LOL it was very very cheap but what iwaver part isnt :) but it looks good quality. i think your right ill give it a quick test to see how warm or hot it gets, but i may aswell try it. If my PCB does burn out im not to worried because ive ordered a new upgraded PCB with upgraded fets on it aswell, Plus ive ordered an ATOMIC stock ball bearing motor aswell... thanks again matt.. ill let you know how it goes mate..
:crash: LOL

Many thanks,, marc

ok mate keep us posted, if you haven't got the specs, def worth a try i reckon

hi mate,
yeh i tried it, WOW it was fast and ran cooler then my standard motor, but i only tested it for 10 minutes, but 10 miniutes was long enough for now, it had some much power the truck would flip its self over, and my max speed more then doubled, BUT ive put the old one back in because ive still got the fear factor that my PCB may over heat, and the other bad thing about the motor was its a very tight fit and i can only use a 9teeth or lower gear on the motor, i tried using a 11 and 14t but then the gears dont line up.

dam the new motor was very fast though its a shame ive taken it out.
the other thing i was worried about is, because the motor is so tight i was worried about rounding off my diff gear and main gear,, Maybe i worry to much.. LOL

im still going to get the Atomic motor and upgraded PCB and FET's, ill get some metal diff gears and main gear aswell i think,, then i wont need to worry about rounding them off..

overall the iwaver I Advance motor was worth getting.. i think,,LOL
