Title: Tamiya Nismo Skyline
scoobster - January 19, 2007 08:53 PM (GMT)
I have a NIB Tamyia Nismo Clarion Nissan Skyline R33 GTR LM body shell which i got a while ago to paint up as a replica of my car only to find out with it being a 95 Le mans replica has the wide arch kit  and even thought i was told it was a 200mm wide shell it turns out from what i can see to be a 190mm so it won't fit my OB4 nitro touring car
So can anyone tell me what Tamiya chassis this shell would have been supplied with?
And should i go for the corect Tamiya Chassis or buy a modern/other chassis for it????

Hi mate,
Any Tamiya 1/10 Electric touring chassis will fit. TA-01 -> TA-05, TB-01/02 TRF-414/415 or TB evo.
Avoid M series chassis (Although FF chassis will work) or any SWB things like MR2 bodies TA-04 and you should be ok :)

originally it cam on the TA-02W the W is the important part meaning WIDE
BUUT its not as bad as it sounds as it just means u need to get a set of wide offset rear wheels such as the taisan gt2 or skyline 5 spokes both of which come up on ebay quite often so once u get the wheels.......
like tom says u can fit on pretty much any standard length (95% of them ) tamiya tourer chassis

Thanks lads, Monty how rare are the TA-02W chassis?
Is it worth me looking for one or just selling the shell to add more cash to my vintage kit buying pot

ta02 is a very easy to come by chassis ,and the wheels arent THAT hard (although not particulaly cheap either)
as far as im aware the ta02W was only actually used on the 300zx and the wide bodied skylines the porsche gt2's used the ta02ws (wide short) which is the same width but,,,, you guessed shorter
i might have some of the wide rims here nip i can sell if u want them
its ONLY the wheels that make it a WIDE so any 190mm chassis will work with the wider wheels
OR i could swap you a normal 190mm width NIB tamiya skyline bodyset for your wide one if you want to go that way
OR like u say u could just sell the thing and be done with it lol
all upto you really tho mate

Oh yes i forgot about those 190mm Wide shells. My HKS Altezza is like that on the TA-04 chassis. Needs wide wheels to look right.
Old Mr. Tamiya up to his usual mischief!
